Challenge Complete

Another year of the Murph Challenge in the books! Great turnout at Crossfit Allendale!

Couldn’t of asked for a more comfortable Memorial Day to do the Murph Challenge! I remember in years past scorching temperatures and soaked through clothes from sweat! Don’t get me wrong it was no less brutal of a workout. Again, the workout starts with a 1-mile run, then a triplet of, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air-squats… and to cap it off another 1-mile run.

Typically you are looking at at least a solid 45-minute workout! The first mile usually flies by as you anticipate the next rounds of body movements, which takes the bulk of the workout. Once you get in a rhythm it becomes mostly a mental workout. Then it’s a hang on to the finish type of final mile, especially if you choose to add the recommended 20lb weight vest! You can pick how to split up the movements in a series of rounds or add another layer of the challenge; work straight through each movement until completion before moving onto the next movement. (Ouch!)

We are mostly all fully recovered and back to the weekly grind of workouts! It’s always a great showing of the support system in Crossfit and in particular the gym you call home. We typically finish and get pretty hungry and thirsty; so this year we sponsored the grilling and members at CFA brought a dish to pass.. (Don’t forget plates for next year!)
