Cedar Blitz 2024 Preview-What You Need to Know!
Cedar Blitz Gravel Race is gaining popularity in the Michigan gravel bike race scene. The race is in its fourth year and the improvements just keep coming! Race founder, Marty Mrozinski, shared with us the two big announcements for Cedar Blitz 2024!
The first is that the race will start in the center of downtown Cedar Springs at Cedar Springs Brewing Company! The city of Cedar Springs has gotten behind the race and this year they are closing down the main street for the racers! We’re excited about this fun change in atmosphere and race course! It also makes “carbohydrating” at the brewery easier after the race!
There’s also a new distance for this year! There are the usual distances of 18, 36, and 50 miles, but the new distance of 165 miles will take you through 5 counties! This distance called the “Buffalo Blitz” is in support of World Bicycle Relief. All proceeds from that distance will go to World Bicycle Relief and their mission of bringing mobility to Africa. There are also fun prizes and swag for just the 165-mile race.
Gravel racing is hugely popular and only getting bigger and bigger! This race course doesn’t have tons of elevation but don’t let that fool you! It’s fast and takes a lot of effort! We love sponsoring this event every year. Check out the video for more information!
