Adventures in the Caribbean Islands

A group of us recently escaped our Michigan frigid temps for an 11 day cruise. Royal Caribbean Serenade of The Seas was our tour guide through the islands! Below are a few videos of our adventures!

If you haven’t been on a cruise before, I would highly recommend giving it a shot! If you like adventure, and doing something different everyday, this is for you! For most, the highlight of a cruise is the port stops. This is where you get off the ship and tour the island. The less adventurous can sign up with the cruise ship excursion. These are normally more expensive and your transportation is handled from your first step off the ship. You are also guaranteed to not miss your boarding time later that day. Normally you enter a port at 8am and need to get back on by 4:30pm. On a ship planned excursion everything is handled for you! BUT, our experience is that many of these excursions can be done cheaper by planning our own with local taxi’s and a little planning. Not only are self tours less expensive, but you get to pick something a little off the beaten path. Google things to do in “whichever island your visiting” see what interests you and ask a taxi to get you there! Most of the videos below were done this way!

Royal Caribbean was our choice on this cruise and seems to be a great fit! Not the cheapest but not the most expensive. You can get on a 7 day cruise for as cheap as $500-750. You can also spend up to $1500-3000 if you want to really spoil yourself with balconies and large rooms. There are 5 day cruises up to 30 days! The options are limitless.
