I was introduced to mountain biking recently. It is a great combination of outdoors and exercise that I enjoy. In order to hold myself accountable and push my motivation I signed up for my first bike race, Hart Hills – 25 miles course. With the race there was a learning curve, excitement and a bit of anxiety. I finished faster than expected, but the real win was committing to the start. Mountain biking has been a great release from my day to day, sixty-hour work week. Mentally and physically I find myself in a better spot. My competitive nature has also been inspired with my rides. Working on a better time, a longer ride. Looking forward to my day to day rides along with my next race, 30 miles – Iceman Cometh Challenge.
