Cannonsburg – West Michigan’s winter playground

Only twenty minutes northeast of downtown Grand Rapids is a gold mine for snowboard terrain park junkies like myself. This place is Cannonsburg, a local mountain for snowboarding, skiing, biking, and even ziplining.

Cannonsburg is my personal favorite spot to go ride because the skill level is so high and everyone is there to learn and encourage each other to go bigger every time. They have multiple terrain parks which leaves a new trick to learn or spot to ride every time you go. First off, there is “Cannon Park” a three jump line for advanced riders to go big on! Secondly, “Showtime Park;” a well known park in Michigan that has hosted multiple events for big companies from Burton to Neff, this park has some tough rails but is as much fun as you make it. Third, there is “The Playground” an intermediate park that is still fun for advanced riders. This park offers a rope tow so you can get as many laps in as possible in the day and progress your skills quicker than ever! Next, there is “Jiblet Park” for beginner rails and boxes. This park offers a good place to start out on and also has a rope tow so you can progress quickly. Last but not least, “Riglet Park” my personal favorite park they offer, this is a park geared directly toward children between the ages of 2-6 and offers little baby jumps and rails so you can teach your kids young and get them into winter sports! Hope to see you on the mountain!
