Luton Park Trail Review
Introducing the first in our series of trail reviews! We love mountain biking and want to introduce you to some of our favorite places around!
Luton Park is one of our favorite trails in the Grand Rapids area, and it offers a lot not only for mountain bikers but for hikers and runners too. It is a great trail for beginning mountain bikers to try out and feel successful while experienced riders will still find something fun on the trails! We recommend not riding if there has been lots of rain as the trail can get a bit slick because of clay mixed in with the dirt. The trail does drain well, so typically it doesn’t take long after rain for it to get back into good riding shape. It is hard packed dirt and all trails are one way. There are plenty of wider places where passing can happen. Just be aware that the trail is used by hikers and runners as well. There are some great views as you ride through miles of forest, fields, and along a small creek.
Their parking area is large, paved and the best in the area. There is plenty of room for your group to park and hang out afterwards. The picnic area is a great place to hang out after and grill out or just pop open some drinks. Looking to do something different after a great ride? Head downtown Rockford for some great dining!
